Overview:
The Historical Preservation Commission has all of the powers granted to it by the Madeira Charter and Madeira Code of Ordinances and performs all the duties imposed upon it by the laws of Ohio, including all statutes now or hereafter enacted.

The Historical Preservation Commission prepares standards regulating the modification of buildings and other developments within the Madeira Historic District, and, from time to time, prepares amendments as required.

The Madeira Historic District is defined as:
  • 7701 Railroad Avenue – “Train Depot”
  • 7010 Miami Avenue – “Muchmore House”
  • 7014 Miami Avenue – “ Hosbrook House”

The Historical Preservation Commission considers all petitions for amendment of the standards for the Historic District referred to it by City Council and may on its own propose amendments to such standards.
