How the Program Works
The City of Madeira's contract with CSI allows for the weekly removal of 35 gallons of trash. If there is any additional trash that is to be thrown away, a $.75 garbage sticker must be attached to any additional containers.
Yardwaste must be properly contained either in an empty garbage can or in the bio-degradable lawn bags which can be purchased at your grocery store or home and garden center. Each yard waste container must have the $.75 garbage sticker attached.
Recycling occurs weekly at the curb side and must be in the recycling bin or a container that is clearly marked for recycling so that the driver can see those items. (Do not use plastic bags). Please see the recycling information sheet for items that can be recycled. CSI is also offering a 65 gallon recycling toter that is on wheels for recycling at no extra charge. Contact the municipal building at 561-7228 to order the recycling toter. |
Renting/Purchasing Additional Containers?
Additional containers are available through CSI for a fee. Please see the CSI Waste Services Garbage Program Guidelines above.
Wondering About Large Items?
CSI will pick up large items at the curb. A large item, such as a sofa, dishwasher or refrigerator (freon must be removed by a certified technician, label affixed and doors secured shut or removed), will require thirteen $.75 garbage stickers, which can be purchased at the Kroger here in Madeira or Meyer's Hardware Store. CSI would appreciate it if you would call them at 771-4200 to let them know you will be placing a large item at the curb. This will allow their drivers to plan accordingly.
